Akropolis
- Excellent Greek restaurant, very friendly service and a fantastic buffet on Sundays from 1300-1800 hrs for 149 NOK. Standard menu will cost $30 to $40 per person. 5189-1454 (map)

Bagel Buddy - Great value; high quality bagel sandwiches with a cool downtown atmosphere - and open LATE on Friday and Saturday nights. Bagel Buddy also has arguably the BEST hamburgers and fries in town. (map) www.bagelbuddy.no

Cafe France - One of the best places for breakfast in Stavanger. Excellent pastries and quiche. It can get very busy on the weekends. About $20.00 per person.

Dolly Dimple - The best pizza in town belongs to Dolly Dimple's. Available for take out or delivery. Up to $35 per pizza. 5182-1312.

Hall Toll - Enjoy a great atmosphere on the waterfront. New menu also prepared daily here. Excellent bar inside. Proper dress required. Expect to pay up to $70 per meal. Reservations. 5151-7232 (map)

Paparazzi - One of Stavanger's newest and trendiest restaurants. Master Chefs prepare a brand new menu daily. Proper dress required. Expect to pay up to $70 or $80 per meal. 5159-7120

La Piazza - Great Itialian food and at a reasonable price (for Norway). About $35 to $40 per person. Fast service and generous portions. 5152-0252

Long Horn Steakhouse - Stavanger's only steakhouse. Expect smaller steaks than in the US, but still excellent. Expect to pay up to $60 per meal. 5186-7191

Harbor Bowl - Offer a mostly American menu. Excellent burgers and fajitas. A fun place to relax. Has an excellent drink menu and a bowling alley inside. About $35 per person. 5159-9970

Mexico - Very good Mexican food and generous portions. Also serves the best margarita's in town. $30 to $40 per person. 5189-1555

Mikado - Best Chinese and Japanese cuisine in Stavanger. Excellent buffet on Sundays. $30 per person. 5189-3388 (map) www.mikado.no

Mogul India - The best Indian food and customer service in the area. Offers a small, intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Up to $60 per meal- Highly Recommended 5189-1817

Peder's - An excellent take-out restaurant offering anything from pizza to Chinese food to steaks. About $10 to $15 per person. 5152-3132

Phileas Fogg - A favorite among US personnel here. They serve a wide variety of food from ribs to burgers to pasta. Excellent dessert menu. $50 per person. 5153-7050 (map)

Sala Thai - Enjoy excellent Thai food at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere and service. About $35 per person. 5153-1599 (map)

Skagen - The best place to try traditional Norwegian fare. Menu items include reindeer and the ever popular local favorite, lutefisk. $50 per person. 5189-5180 (map)

Stavanger also offers some American fast food restaurants. McDonald's, Subway and Burger King are in the downtown area.
